SEL Solution for Educators

offers simple, effective, and research-based skills that help school administrators, teachers and staff members cope with stress, access their best selves, develop a stronger PLT, and better support students. These skills educators strengthen the competencies of Self-Awareness, Self Management, Social Awareness, Relationship Skills, and Responsible Decision Making.

Research indicates that individuals with strong SEL competence…

  • More effectively teach and model social emotional competence for their students (Brackett et al., 2008)

  • Build and maintain stronger relationships with their students (Jennings & Greenberg, 2009), which leads to fewer discipline issues and improved classroom management and climate.

  • Enhance their own efficacy and job satisfaction while acting as models for others (Elias et al.in press; Jones & Weissbourd, 2013). 

  • Are less likely to report burnout (Brackett et al., 2010).

Training

Learners engage in live, instructor led virtual learning and have the opportunity to acquire, practice, and receive feedback on use of four or more SEL Solution Tools per session. Individuals who complete the full training pathway (five courses) will acquire twenty new skills total. Participants gain access to training content and associated SEL Solution Tools for ongoing application.

Responsible Decision Making (2 hours): Problem Identification and Situation Analysis | Problem Solving | Evaluation and Reflection | Personal, Moral, and Ethical Responsibility

Coaching

Coaching bridges training to practice for sustainable behavior change. SEL Solution Coaching further strengthens skill development and application through the use of small (4-6 people) group or individual sessions via Zoom. Learners receive targeted support in the form of planning, calibrating, or reflective coaching as they put SEL Solution tools into regular practice in their professional and personal lives.
